This new luxury hotel opened in the popular Old Port district in 2003, steps from a clutch of bars and restaurants. All rooms and suites are top-drawer: Even standard rooms are outfitted with big, deep baths in granite-faced bathrooms; armoires; queen and king beds done up in comfy duvets and down coverlets; two-line phones; and big TVs offering 70 channels of digital television with Internet access. Deluxe rooms and suites add Jacuzzis, and many units look out onto an attractive central garden area where guests dine or sip drinks in good weather. (Other rooms offer views of the Old Port's brick skyline.) Turndown service with chocolates is always available. The restaurant is excellent, and there's also a bar.
